Tool: Pricing Clarity Auditor
When ChatGPT or an AI procurement agent compares software options, the first thing it looks for is pricing. If your pricing page is unclear, hidden, or unstructured, you lose the recommendation before a human even gets involved.
Paste your pricing page URL. We'll check 6 dimensions of AI-readability. Free, no signup.
Humans read your pricing visually. AI agents parse it structurally. If the structured layer is missing, agents skip you, even if humans find it beautiful.
When an AI agent is tasked with evaluating software options (whether that's a procurement agent running a vendor comparison or ChatGPT answering "what's the best CRM under $50/month?", the first thing it looks for is pricing. Not your design. Not your brand story. Pricing.
The problem is that most pricing pages are designed for humans, not machines. Prices hidden in images. Plan names buried in CSS. Comparison tables built in Figma and exported as screenshots. Feature lists that use icons instead of text. All of this is invisible to an AI agent crawling your site to build a structured understanding of your product.
Prices as machine-readable text. If your prices are in an image or an SVG, an AI agent can't read them. They need to appear as text in your HTML, ideally alongside currency symbols that are consistently formatted. An agent comparing $19/mo, €25/mo, and £15/mo can only do so if those numbers are in the DOM.
Clear plan naming. AI agents build a mental model of your offering by identifying tiers. Free, Starter, Pro, Business, Enterprise: these words carry meaning. If your plans are called things like "Horizon" and "Apex" without any of those standard tier terms nearby, agents struggle to position you relative to competitors.
A feature comparison table. This is the most underrated element on a pricing page. An HTML table, or even a structured list, lets an AI agent extract exactly what's included in each tier and compare it against your competitors. A screenshot of a comparison is worthless to a machine.
A pricing FAQ. AI agents are often trying to answer specific questions on behalf of users: "Can I cancel anytime?", "What happens if I exceed my limit?", "Do you offer annual billing?". If those answers are on your pricing page as text, the agent can answer them. If they're not, it either guesses or sends the user to a competitor who does answer them.
Action-oriented CTAs. "Contact us" is a dead end for an AI agent evaluating your product. An agent trying to route a user to sign up or start a trial needs a clear, text-based CTA: "Get started", "Start free trial", "Subscribe". Vague contact prompts break the agent's ability to complete a purchase journey.
Structured data (JSON-LD). The gold standard for machine-readable pricing is PriceSpecification or Offer schema markup. When you add this to your pricing page, AI models can extract your pricing with high confidence, even if the rest of the page is imperfectly structured. It's 20 lines of JSON that can meaningfully improve how AI systems represent your product.
Pricing clarity is one of six categories Faro audits. A perfect pricing page won't help if your site is blocking AI crawlers in robots.txt, has no llms.txt file, or lacks structured data on your other key pages. The full AI Readiness Scan covers all six dimensions and gives you a complete picture.
For generating the JSON-LD structured data your pricing page is missing, use the AI Schema Creator. It generates ready-to-deploy Product and Offer schema in under two minutes. No developer required for most sites.
To check if your robots.txt is blocking AI crawlers like GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot from reaching your pricing page at all, use the robots.txt Analyzer. A blocked crawl is the fastest way to score zero on every AI readiness dimension, including pricing.
Any SaaS, agency, or B2B company with a pricing page should run this audit. Especially if you're in a category where AI tools like ChatGPT or Perplexity are starting to give product recommendations: CRM, project management, email marketing, cybersecurity, HR software, accounting tools, and similar. These are the categories where AI-driven discovery is growing fastest.
Agencies managing multiple client accounts should use this as part of every onboarding audit. Pricing clarity scores are easy to explain to clients and easy to fix, which makes them ideal as high-value, quick-win deliverables. The Agency plan includes bulk API access so you can run pricing audits across your entire client list programmatically.
The companies that optimize for AI discoverability now, before most of their competitors have even heard of it, will be the ones getting recommended by AI models in 12 months. The pricing page is the simplest place to start.
