How to use the AI Readiness Scan
Step-by-step guide to running a scan, reading the results, and acting on the fix prompts.
The AI Readiness Scan is Faro's core tool. It takes a URL, runs 18 checks across six categories, and returns a score, grade, and prioritised list of fixes.
Running a scan
Enter any URL in the scan input, you can use your homepage, a specific page, or a competitor's domain. You don't need to include https://; Faro will handle it. The scan takes around 30 seconds.
Free plan: all six categories are shown and your first 3 scan results are saved to your history. Pro and Agency: unlimited saved scans, every fix prompt unlocked, weekly monitoring, and score trend tracking.
Reading the results
The score and grade appear at the top. Below that, each category shows its sub-score and the checks within it. Green checks passed. Red checks failed. Each failed check has a detail explaining what was found and a fix prompt you can give to a developer.
The fix prompts
Each failed check includes a plain-English fix. For technical fixes (like adding JSON-LD markup), the fix prompt is written to be given directly to a developer or pasted into Claude Code. Copy the "All issues to fix" section using the copy button at the top-right of the issues list to share everything at once.
Re-scanning after fixes
After making changes, wait for your site to redeploy, then re-scan. Click "Re-scan" next to any saved scan in your history and the URL will pre-populate. Compare the new score to the previous one, Pro and Agency plans show the score trend automatically.
